Marta Olmedo was an elite athlete and competed for clubs such as Atlético San Sebastián, FC Barcelona and Playas de Castellón, among others. Her speciality was middle distance, above all the 800 metres, although she also raced frequently over 400 metres. She contested Spanish championships in both events throughout every age category. During her time as an athlete she combined training with her work coaching youth categories in her home town of Quart de Poblet (Valencia) and with studying for public examinations.

Her record includes several Valencian Community titles over 400 and 800 metres, both indoors, now known as short track, and outdoors. In 2023 and 2024 she was regional 400 metres indoor champion. In that sprint event she stood on the third step of the podium three times at Spanish youth championships. She also achieved outstanding results over 800 metres, a distance in which she ranked among the ten best runners in Spain. In 2023 and 2024 she finished seventh at the Spanish Indoor Championships, on top of numerous successes at provincial and regional level. From 2015 onwards she represented the Valencian Community at the Spanish Inter-Federation Championships. Her personal bests were 55.74 over 400 metres —55.97 indoors— and 2:06.58 over 800 metres —2:07.10 indoors—.

Marta has lived with sport since the day she was born. She grew up watching her father do athletics and her mother play tennis, so from a very early age she knew she wanted to devote herself to sport. She liked so many disciplines, however, that for years she practised tennis, swimming, skiing, skating, dance and athletics. When the time came to choose she tried to combine tennis with athletics, but in the end she opted for the spikes. Over time athletics won out over the racket and became a hobby shared by her whole family.

["post-106949","embajador","type-embajador","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
What you might not know about Marta…
