Since 2020, 42K has been using Infini_Tech<\/strong> fabric. This recycled running fabric<\/strong> dedicated to making sportswear is made from polyester that comes entirely from recycled bottles<\/strong>, known as PET plastic<\/a>. <\/p>\n

It was in 2018 when 42K began studying the development of a recycled technical fabric to create new collections of sportswear especially designed for running. At that time, the goal was set to bring to market, within a couple of years, the first collection<\/strong> of running shirts made with 100% recycled fabric<\/strong> from used plastic bottles. After many months of work, the challenge became a reality in 2020, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the 42K brand. <\/p>\n

In 2020, first collection with recycled running fabric<\/h2>\n

With the addition of Infini_Tech<\/strong> to our catalog of technical fabrics in 2020, a new generation of collections<\/strong> was born that feature a distinctive mark identifying them as 100% recycled.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It’s worth noting that in 2020, 42K became the first Spanish company specializing in technical sportswear for sports events<\/strong> to bring to market a collection of running shirts<\/a> made with polyester yarn obtained from recycling plastic bottles and, therefore, with the 100% recycled label.<\/p>\n

Infini_Tech, 42K’s recycled running fabric, is made with polyester yarn obtained from small pellets called ‘granulate<\/strong>‘, which is the recycled material that used plastic bottles are transformed into.<\/p>\n

Elements, the first collection with recycled running fabric<\/h3>\n

The production of Infini_Tech fabric throughout 2020 involved the transformation of more than two million PET plastic bottles into recycled material (“granulate”) to bring to life the <\/strong>Elements Collection<\/a>, the first collection<\/strong> of 42K technical shirts made with recycled running fabric<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As a curiosity, and to better quantify the importance of this recycling process, each shirt<\/strong> made with Infini_Tech recycled running fabric contains an amount of polyester yarn equivalent to approximately 20 plastic bottles of 500ml<\/strong>; in other words: each shirt made with recycled running fabric represents the transformation of 20 half-liter plastic bottles.<\/p>\n

Infini_Tech recycled running fabric offers all the necessary characteristics to make the highest quality technical running garments. Infini_Tech offers the same performance in lightness and breathability as fabric made with regular polyester, but with one major difference: it has a lower impact on the planet<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The Elements collection has been a sales success<\/strong> and has marked a before and after in 42K’s history as a sportswear brand. In 2022, the Elements collection grew with the addition of the tank top version. <\/p>\n

And following the success of Elements, the Ozone collection<\/a> has come to light, the second collection of 42K technical shirts made with recycled running fabric. Ozone<\/strong> has become the star collection of 42K’s 2022-2023 catalog. This new collection<\/strong> of technical running shirts<\/strong> 100% recycled<\/strong> features designs with full sublimation print<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The most demanding runners can find the best performance in this collection thanks to the excellent breathability and lightness<\/strong> of its Infini_Tech fabric. Like the Elements collection, Ozone features differentiated patterns for male and female runners. <\/p>\n

It also incorporates latest-generation fabric treatments to promote quick drying<\/strong>, softness to prevent chafing<\/strong> or irritation, and color fixation<\/strong> so that the intensity and vibrancy of colors don’t deteriorate over time or with washing.<\/p>\n

New life for PET plastic bottles<\/h3>\n

Recycling is one of the necessary actions to address global warming<\/a>, the main problem facing our planet.
\nCommitting to recycling is a necessary commitment to contribute to environmental care, but also as important support for sustainable development, as it allows saving natural resources that are not infinite.<\/p>\n

The polyester yarn used to make Infini_Tech represents the elimination of PET plastic bottles that could otherwise end up as polluting waste in marine ecosystems or aquifers.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, by giving PET plastic bottles a new life, an important commitment to sustainability is made, as it reduces oil consumption (a non-renewable raw material), but above all achieves significant energy savings by eliminating the need for extraction, transportation, and processing of oil, thereby notably reducing the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere, which is one of the main causes of global warming.<\/p>\n

Progressive commitment to recycling<\/h3>\n

The new collection of recycled shirts that will be launched in a few weeks will mark a before and after in 42krunning’s trajectory as a company.
\nOur goal is to progressively increase the presence of collections of sportswear and accessories made with recycled materials.
