Knowing a little about Marta Olmedo Lluna

Marta Olmedo is an athlete in the athletics section of Atlético San Sebastián. Her favorite event or distance is the 800m (medium distance) and from time to time she combines it with the 400m. (speed), modalities in which she has competed in Spanish championships throughout all categories. In addition to her training, she shares her time as a youth athletics coach in her hometown of Quart de Poblet (Valencia) with her competitive studies.

Personal sporting achievements…

In her record there are different champion titles of the Valencian Community in 400m. and in 800m., both on an indoor track (or short tracks, as it is called now) as at airand free. In 2024, as in 2023, she has been proclaimed regional 400m champion. on an indoor track. In this speed test she has occupied the third place on the podium three times in Spanish championships in lower categories. But in addition to excelling in 400m. She has also achieved notable results in the 800m, a middle-distance distance in which she is among the ten best runners in Spain (in 2023 and 2024 she was 7th in the Spanish indoor track championship), in addition to adding different provincial successes and autonomous. Since 2015 she has represented the Valencian Community in the Spanish Federation Championship. Her personal best is 55.74 in the 400m. (55.97 on an indoor track) and 2.06.58 in 800m. (2.07.10 indoor/short track).

What you may not know about Marta is…

Marta has lived with sports since she was born. She grew up watching her father practice track and her mother play tennis. She says that from a very young age she was clear that she wanted to be an athlete, but there was a problem: she liked a lot of sports. «I have practiced many sports: tennis, swimming, skiing, skating, dancing, athletics..., but when I reached a certain age I realized that I couldn't do everything». He tried to reconcile tennis with athletics, but finally opted for spikes. «Athletics has ended up imposing itself on the racket in my house. Now everyone at home practices athletics."He says.
