A total of 8 pallets, containing something more than 15.000 technical shirts 42K, will soon embark on the road to the African continent with the NGDO Training Senegal chaired by Antonio Zamorano.
42K has done this garment donation to respond to the needs of this NGDO in the different rural schools from the department of Kebèmer (Senegal) where he works, as well as to dress a soccer school of more than 1.800 boys and girls in Bamako (capital of Mali).
Senegal and Mali, destination of the donation
“The promotion of sport is fundamental to consolidate schooling and that in this way education and training can be favored, which is the key to promoting the social transformation that curbs the rural exodus. The problem of many towns and villages is that they do not offer opportunities for education and training and that means going to the big cities in search of ways to earn a living”explains Antonio Zamorano.
The ONGD (Non-Governmental Organization for Development) chaired by Zamorano has been working in the Sahel for more than a decade on different training projects focused on the schooling of boys and girls, but also on the professional training of young people and adults, especially women. from rural settings.
Asked what this donation of clothes means for the kids and young people who will receive them, his answer is this:
“In situations of poverty such as those experienced in many African countries, having clothes is essential for personal dignity. There, people literally have nothing, and having clothes is a boost to their self-esteem. In addition, the boys and girls of the schools where we work are passionate about sports and having quality technical shirts to play sports is an enormous stimulus that greatly facilitates the task of teachers”He says.
42K will dress up a boys and girls track team
In addition to this donation that will soon travel to Africa, 42K has undertaken to equip an athletics team from the town of Ndeur Diop (in the Senegalese region of Louga) as part of the agreement to promote the values that practicing sports implies for development in rural communities.
This is a group of approximately thirty schoolchildren, both boys and girls, with ages ranging from 8 to 15 years.
Training Senegal, more than a decade working in the Sahel
Training Senegal is a non-profit NGO that works in the Sahel on different projects to promote access to basic rights such as education and health.
Its objective is to combat poverty and inequalities by giving life to different training projects focused on the schooling of children and young people and on professional training, especially for women from rural environments.
The area of Senegal in which he carries out his work is part of the Sahel and is one of the places on the planet that suffers the worst consequences of global warming in the most dramatic way, with a permanent drought that has led to rural exodus and massive emigration.
