For second consecutive Year 42K is the technical mark of Iván Penalba in the Badwater 135, a mythical test in the ultra-fund world reserved for runners with unique physical and mental conditions given the extreme hardness of the test: 135 miles (217 kilometers) through one of the most inhospitable places on the planet (in the Mojave desert) due to its extremely high temperatures.
The participants in the Badwater 135, no more than a hundred and who only received the invitation of the organization after accrediting a long experience in ultra-distance tests, have to travel endless roads under a scorching sun that shoots the mercury up to 50 degrees during the day and barely descends up to 34 overnight.
42K He has been a sponsor of Iván Penalba for years and has been supporting his dream of winning the Badwater 135 and set a new time record in the demanding Californian race; Currently, the test record is held by Valmir Nunes in 22h:51':29".
Iván Penalba already made history in 2022 by being the first Spaniard to stand on the podium of the event, but his great challenge is to register his name in the list of winners of the Badwater and become the first Spanish runner to win the most extreme and epic race on the planet.
