The Ibercaja Foundation headquarters in Logroño hosted the official presentation of the new kits for the Riojan Athletics Federation, designed and developed by 42K. A very special event for Riojan athletics and also for our brand, which begins a new partnership as a technical brand with a federation with a solid sporting tradition.
The Riojan Athletics Federation was represented by its president, Patricia Lorente, who was accompanied by various members of the federation, and also present was Diego Azcona, general director of Sports and Youth of the Government of La Rioja.

The Riojan Athletics Federation debuts its new kit at the Spanish Outdoor Autonomous Federation Championships
The presentation took place during a week of peak activity for the Riojan Athletics Federation, just days before the Spanish Outdoor Autonomous Federation Championships, which were organized in La Rioja for the first time. A historic event for the region and a magnificent opportunity to debut a renewed, modern image deeply connected to the territory.
For 42K, this project has meant much more than designing a sports kit. “The goal was to create a new skin for Riojan athletes: technical, comfortable clothing ready for competition, but also a kit capable of telling a story and proudly representing La Rioja on every track, cross-country, mountain, or road,” said Guillermo Peñalver, manager of 42K Running at the presentation.
A new skin with elements of Riojan identity
From the start of the creative process, the 42K design team and the leaders of the Riojan federation, led by their president, were clear that the new image couldn’t be generic. Patricia Lorente indicated that the new skin of the Riojan athletics team had to incorporate elements of Riojan identity and translate them into a cutting-edge kit, visually recognizable and with personality.

The burgundy color, so closely linked to La Rioja, is one of the main features of the design. It brings strength, elegance, and continuity with a highly recognizable chromatic identity. Alongside it are the regional flag and the map of the community, two elements that remind athletes where they come from and who they represent every time they compete.
Another of the most significant details are the bunches of grapes, a symbol of a land admired internationally for the excellence of its wines. “Their presence in the kit connects with values like patience, care, perseverance, and a job well done; values that also define athletics and those who train every day to improve”, explains Guillermo Peñalver.
The new kit also incorporates the Logroño Stone Bridge on the back, one of the city’s great symbols and an element that further reinforces the link between the garment, the Riojan capital, and the entire region.

“Behind every garment there are many hours of design, technical development, and detail review. But there is also excitement, respect, and admiration for the athletes who will defend these colors. From 42K Running, we have worked so they can compete with maximum comfort, with garments designed to perform at their best and with the pride of representing La Rioja,” noted Guillermo Peñalver during the presentation event.

We want to thank the Riojan Athletics Federation, especially its president Patricia Lorente and her entire board of directors, for the trust placed in 42K to carry out this image renewal. For our brand, it is an honor to be part of this journey alongside the Riojan athletes who are the present and future of Riojan athletics.

We hope this new kit accompanies Riojan athletes in many sporting successes and contributes to continuing to take the name of La Rioja to the top, starting with the Spanish Outdoor Federation Championships.
