How to choose your ideal shoe.

How to choose your ideal shoe. 1

One of the most difficult choices that runners have at each change of shoe or new acquisition is which model to choose or which shoe is the ideal according to our characteristics.

This becomes even more difficult when we begin the practice of running since the first sneakers we purchase do not follow any criteria and we usually purchase them in non-specialized centers. I would also like to tell you that finding the ideal shoe sometimes becomes a very complicated task and in some cases, until we have purchased seven or eight models from different brands over the years, we do not find the ideal shoe. Well, here are some tips from Jaume Vila, a fellow outing and member of the team. Runningway.net:

“The sneakers of running can be classified into 3 large groups:

a) Training (Damped - Treadmills):  Heavy models super cushioned in the heel, with the arch of the insole reinforced many times with rigid plastic pieces that correct the footprint and give stability to the foot, indicated for "slow", long rides, or for asphalt, also for heavy people > 80kg. For example: ASICS Nimbus, NB1064, Mizuno Wave Rider, etc….

They are the most expensive models as they are the sneakers that take care of the foot the most. They are long-lasting sneakers, let's say the base sneakers of the entire season. Approximate life of this type of bamba is 1.000 / 1.200 km.

The New Balance 1064 are somewhat heavy shoes intended for runners who exceed 75 kilos and who seek comfort and cushioning.

The Asics Cumulus They would be in this group but for light people <70kg or for women, since the cushioning is not so reinforced but the arch of the insole is.

b) Mixed: Do not confuse these shoes with the "mid-range" ones, they are equally high-end but indicated for shorter and a little more cheerful rides (about 4"/km), for flat rides on land, and for light people. Their main features are that they are semi-cushioned, they still have footstep correction in the insole but it is no longer rigid and their duration is approximately 800km. Nike Vomero, Saucony Jazz, Asics Stratus. Half price

c) Flying: Very light weight shoes, with a super fast and aggressive step transition, minimal cushioning and no stability correction in the insole. Shoes indicated to do series and to compete. Moderate prices but its life in km is much lower than the others. "

The Scott Makani are lightweight running shoes designed for competition and for runners under 75 kilos.

Finally, what you have to take into account, first of all, is to find out your type of footprint (neutral, pronator or supinator) since, regardless of the choice of the shoe for aesthetics, weight or speed, knowing our behavior when jogging we will help prevent injury.

To do this, we advise you to purchase your shoes at a specialized center. running since they have both the experience and advanced technological systems to detect the type of footprint and the shoes that best suit our needs.
