Getting to know Carolina Sala Picazo a little

Carolina Sala Picazo (Albacete, 12/07/2010) is a young athlete who has excelled in race walking, competing for Club Atletismo Albacete and also for the Castilla-La Mancha regional team. She took up athletics at the age of 10 at the Club Atletismo Albacete school and began competing as a second-year U12, and has just moved up into the U18 category. The result she is most proud of is her 4th place in the U18 category at the Spanish 10 km Road Race Walking Championships, held in Cieza on 15 February 2026.

-1st individually over 3,000 m race walk at the Spanish U16 Club Championships (Final A).

What you might not know about Carolina…

For years she combined athletics with taekwondo. She took up this Korean martial art, which is also an Olympic sport, at the age of 6 and reached blue belt. At 13 she chose athletics, and race walking in particular, because it was becoming difficult to fit in the training for both sports.
