A total of 8 pallets, containing over 15,000 42K technical t-shirts, will soon be shipped to the African continent with the NGO Formación Senegal, chaired by Antonio Zamorano.
42K has made this clothing donation to address the needs of this NGO in the various rural schools in the Kebèmer department (Senegal) where it operates, as well as to outfit a football school of over 1,800 boys and girls in Bamako (capital of Mali).
Senegal and Mali, destination of the donation
“Promoting sports is essential to strengthen schooling and thus foster education and training, which is key to driving social transformation that curbs rural exodus. The problem in many towns and villages is that they do not offer educational and training opportunities, leading to migration to large cities in search of livelihoods,” explains Antonio Zamorano.
The NGO (Non-Governmental Development Organization) chaired by Zamorano has been working in the Sahel for over a decade on various training projects focused on schooling for children, but also on professional training for young people and adults, especially women in rural areas.

Asked about the significance of this clothing donation for the children and young people who will receive them, his response is:
“In situations of poverty like those experienced in many African countries, having clothes is fundamental for personal dignity. People there literally have nothing, and having clothes boosts their self-esteem. Furthermore, the children in the schools where we work are passionate about sports, and having quality technical t-shirts for sports is a huge incentive that greatly facilitates the teachers’ task,” he assures.
42K to outfit a children’s athletics team
In addition to this donation, which will soon travel to Africa, 42K has committed to equipping an athletics team from the town of Ndeur Diop (in the Senegalese region of Louga) as part of the agreement to promote the values that sports practice brings to development in rural communities.
This group consists of approximately thirty schoolchildren, both boys and girls, aged between 8 and 15 years.
Formación Senegal, over a decade working in the Sahel
Formación Senegal is a non-profit NGO that works in the Sahel on various projects to promote access to basic rights such as education and health.
Its objective is to combat poverty and inequality by bringing to life various training projects focused on schooling for children and young people and on professional training, especially for women in rural areas.
The area of Senegal where it operates is part of the Sahel and is one of the places on the planet that most dramatically suffers the worst consequences of global warming, with permanent drought that has led to rural exodus and massive emigration.
