Chroma, technical shirts created for running and designed to stand out

by Paco Amorós

Chroma is the new collection of technical running shirts created for runners looking for a lightweight, elastic garment with optimal breathability and a high-impact visual aesthetic.

The Chroma collection is born with a distinct identity: color as the protagonist. Inspired by the power of the chromatic spectrum, it combines solid, predominant bases with high-contrast gradients that provide dynamism, visibility, and a very modern technical image. The result is a shirt designed for comfortable running, but also to stand out with every stride.

This collection has been created for running and designed to stand out.

Chroma Collection, ultralight technical running shirts

Chroma represents a new evolution within the 42K technical catalog: a running shirt with a relaxed fit, premium Elastter fabric, laser micro-perforations on the sides and upper chest, and three color options with distinct personalities: White, Blue, and Wine.

The Chroma collection features running shirts with a relaxed fit

One of Chroma’s main features is its relaxed fit, a loose fit that promotes freedom of movement during the run.

This pattern allows the shirt to adapt naturally to body movement, without creating a feeling of compression or restriction. It is an especially comfortable silhouette for runners looking for a technical garment with greater amplitude, fluidity, and comfort.

The relaxed fit makes Chroma a very versatile option for high-intensity training, long runs, or medium and long-distance competitions, where comfort and freedom of movement are key factors.

Elastter, 42K’s premium fabric

The Chroma collection is made with Elastter, one of the most advanced technical fabrics developed by 42K.

This fabric is composed of 88% recycled polyester and 12% spandex (a fiber characterized by its ability to stretch and return to its original shape without deforming), a combination that provides elasticity, lightness, softness, and excellent adaptability to movement.

Elastter stands out especially for its bidirectional elasticity, meaning its ability to stretch both horizontally and vertically. This property allows the shirt to adapt to the body with total fluidity, accompanying every running motion without creating resistance.

The result is a garment that offers a comfortable, natural, and functional fit, with a much greater sense of freedom than a conventional technical shirt.

Exceptional lightness: 95 grams in size M

Additionally, Chroma maintains great lightness, with only 95 grams in size M (80g in women’s size M), and an extra soft feel that enhances the wearing experience even during demanding training or long-duration competitions.

Elastter is the same premium fabric used by 42K in high-performance collections such as Deep and Apex, the tank top collection developed to offer maximum lightness, total freedom of movement, and performance in highly demanding conditions.

With Chroma, 42K expands the Elastter universe by incorporating a new collection where textile technology and visual design combine to offer a technical shirt with high-level features and a distinctive aesthetic.

Laser micro-perforations to improve breathability

Another key technical aspect of Chroma is the incorporation of two strategic areas of laser micro-perforations.

These micro-perforations are located on the sides and the upper chest, two particularly important areas for promoting ventilation during the run.

Chroma incorporates two zones of laser micro-perforations: on the front sides and the upper chest.

Their function is to improve the garment’s breathability and help dissipate heat during moments of highest demand, especially in intense training, high-pace sessions, or medium and long-distance competitions.

Laser micro-perforations are small holes made by a concentrated light beam that optimize breathability in sports garments that will be subjected to intensive use. The laser allows for the perforation of elastic, thin, or delicate fabrics, such as Elastter, with extraordinary precision without deforming or damaging them.

Thanks to this construction, Chroma offers a greater sense of freshness and comfort when the intensity of effort increases.

Design inspired by the color spectrum

This collection of running shirts not only stands out for its technical features. It also does so for a very powerful visual identity.

Its striking design is inspired by the power of the color spectrum. Each model starts from a solid and predominant chromatic base, over which high-contrast gradients appear on the front, providing energy, movement, and visual depth.

Three models: White, Blue, and Wine

The Chroma collection consists of three models, each with its own chromatic identity.

Chroma White

Chroma White combines white as the predominant color with gradients in red, orange, and violet tones.

It is the brightest proposal in the collection. A shirt with a clean and clear base, reinforced by intense color details that provide energy, contrast, and dynamism.

It is ideal for those looking for a technical, fresh, and visually powerful aesthetic.

Chroma Blue

Chroma Blue features indigo blue as the main color, combined with gradients in yellow, greenish tones, and a subtle touch of purple.

Its design conveys depth, freshness, and movement. It is a proposal with a very technical and modern image, designed for runners looking for a shirt with personality, but without sacrificing a balanced aesthetic.

Chroma Wine

Chroma Wine starts with a burgundy red base and combines it with gradients in yellows, oranges, greenish tones, and a small touch of pink.

It is the model with the most visual character in the collection. A shirt with strength, personality, and a sophisticated aesthetic, designed for those looking for a different technical garment with a very marked image.

The Chroma collection is the perfect synergy between textile technology and avant-garde design.

Its Elastter fabric, bidirectional elasticity, relaxed fit, lightness, laser micro-perforations, and powerful visual identity make this collection an ideal option for runners looking for maximum comfort, freedom of movement, and a modern technical aesthetic.
